Sunny Kim is a vocalist, pianist, composer, creator of multimedia shows, educator and improvisor. A native of South Korea, her vocal improvisation style and experiments with electronics gained her recognition in the recent years in the US as well as abroad. Since her arrival in the US in 1998, Kim's career has included work with Roswell Rudd, Pheeroan akLaff, Ran Blake, Ben Monder, Ari Hoenig, Dave Fiuczynski, Michael Cain, Frank Carlberg, Carlos Alomar, Jason Hwang, Stomu Takeishi, Irene Aebi, and Min Xiao Fen to name a few. Kim received her BM at the University of Denver, and MM at the New England Conservatory, both in Jazz Studies, Voice Performance. Kim studied improvisation with Marguerite Juenemanne, Dominique Eade, Bob Moses, John McNeil, composition with Hankus Netsky and Michael Gandolfi, and wing chun with Sifu Stanley Jue.
